Secretary’s Report
The Club held two Open Shows during 2009 and the Club had moved to a new venue.
Failand Village Hall is in a lovely setting. The Hall is light and bright with ample parking
and a grassed area where judging, if weather permits can be held outside.
The Spring show was judged by Mrs C Rutherford, a good entry awaited Mrs Rutherford.
Due a frost the night before judging was held inside.
The many positive comments that were received regarding the venue were pleasing to
hear.
The Bottle Stall and Raffle were well supported. We also had items donated for auction
– all doing very well.
Autumn Show - judged by Mr B Day
Another good entry awaited our judge.
The weather was kind for this show therefore judging was able to take place outside.
A very happy atmosphere prevailed throughout the day.
Both shows were sponsored by James Wellbeloved, and the Club thank them for their
continued support.
The Raffle and Scottie Table did swift trade. Once again several items were donated and
auctioned during the lunch break, and were very well supported.

The Club is mindful of the difficult times everyone is having at the moment, but the Club
really appreciates your continued generous support. The Club wishes to give a big
‘THANK YOU’ to the Officers, Committee, Exhibitors and Club Members.
The Spring show in 2010 will take place on Saturday 17th April 2010 due to the venue
being unavailable, there will also be a change to the commencement of judging this will
start at 1100, full details will appear in the schedule and on the website.
Unfortunately two of our long standing Committee Members have been unwell during
2099, our President/Chairperson Mrs F M Sheppard and Vice President/Vice
Chairperson Mrs M A Micklethwaite, we hope you are both now feeling much better.
Mrs F M Sheppard has not been able to send in her article for the Bulletin this year, but
sends her Best Wishes to the Club and all Members
We look forward to seeing you all again at our shows in 2010.
